12.09 Courtland Gives Back by "Paying it Forward"

In the spirit of giving this holiday season, Steve Trudell, President of Courtland Consulting, presented the employees of Courtland with a "Pay it Forward" challenge. Each employee was given $100 and was to "Pay it Forward" to the community. Here's some of the organizations and people in the community that the Courtland Team gave to:

11.22 Rococo's Closet

Rococo’s Closet, a trendy clothing boutique in Northville, MI, chose Courtland Consulting to design and build a content management system website to provide their users of any age with a simple and quick method to shop and check out with their secure checkout form. Courtland also created a RSS feed to automatically post the product new arrivals on the Rococo's Facebook wall.

With their custom admin tool, Rococo can manage all of the products on their store website as well as create and offer gift certificates and coupons.

Courtland Volunteers at Parkinsons Walk-a-thon and 5K Run 10.09 Courtland Volunteers at the Parkinson’s Walk-a-thon/5K Run

On October 9, Courtland volunteered to help with registration at the Michigan Parkinson Foundation’s very first “I Gave My Sole to Parkinson’s Walk-a-thon and 5K Run” in the Greater Lansing area at the Okemos High School. The Okemos High School’s stadium and cross country field were perfect for the gathering of over 400 participants and volunteers who shared in the excitement of this event. People with Parkinson’s, their family members, friends, and community members, including a large group of students from Okemos High School and Michigan State University, celebrated those contending with Parkinson’s disease. The Walk-a-thon and 5K run was not only a lot of fun, but a great success!

Courtland has been supporting the Michigan Parkinsons Foundation since 2006.

Courtland Consulting has been involved with the Michigan Family Support Council for the last 20 years and was a sponsor and exhibitor once again at this year’s annual conference in October 2010. To further support the Council’s marketing efforts, Courtland has developed a website redesign that was both meaningful and interactive. Some new additions allows users to register for conferences, securely give online donations, sign-up for their email distribution list to receive news and updates directly from the Council, and register to the site to receive access to past conference materials and other useful resources.

Courtland representatives are attending the National Child Support Enforcement Association (NCSEA) Annual Conference in Chicago, IL on August 8-10, 2010. Demonstrations will be held to showcase our latest government implementation, evaluation and web technology projects. Visit our Booth # 806 for information and giveaways!

7.25 Courtland Represented at Human Service Conferences

Courtland has Court consulting experts who understand the importance of working with the Courts and human service agencies to improve the lives of families. Our staff attended and volunteered at the National Association for Court Management Annual Conference, July 20-24, 2010. We participated in discussions about using technology to streamline services and offered our experience to potential clients and vendor partners.

Courtland’s President, Steve Trudell, knows that integrity matters. Our attendance at the recent National Council of Child Support Directors Annual Conference on June 13-16, 2010 allowed Courtland to hear business concerns first-hand from the Child Support Agency Director’s and offer our support for future changes that will benefit the child support community.

20th anniversary 4.07 Courtland Celebrates Its 20th Anniversary

April is an exciting month for Courtland Consulting as it celebrates 20 successful years of being in business since incorporation in 1990. “It seems like only yesterday,” states Steven Trudell, President and Owner of Courtland Consulting, “that I was coding case management systems and decided to establish my own consulting business to provide government consulting staffing resources. I worked hard at recruiting consultants with solid technology backgrounds who also possessed a complement of leadership and project management skills. Now with 20 years of delivering implementation, training and web services, it has been a rewarding two decades. What has made a difference in our business strategy includes: diversifying our services in order to be less dependent on one industry, investing in operational applications and procedural changes to help us work smarter and not harder, building a network of reliable business partners to partner with and refer products and services, and recruiting consultants that are experienced and versatile to help with position placement. 3.29 Strudell Studios Releases an Upgrade to Our Online Client Portal

As an added-value to our web hosting customers, Courtland has upgraded its Strudell Studios Online Client Portal. Highlights of the portal website upgrade includes but is not limited to: improved end user interface to portal home page for easier navigation, allows the adding of sub-accounts to a client’s account for consolidated billing and management of additional websites and services, enhanced security for bill processing, support ticket ranking for customer feedback, client area ticket search, and client files area to upload important files to individual customers. 1.22 Courtland Consultants Successful Implementation Support Effort of the NJKiDS (New Jersey Kids Deserve Support) Child Support Application

Courtland Consulting was the pre- and post-implementation support group of the award-winning team that successfully implemented and supported the new NJKiDS application for the State of New Jersey. The NJKiDS System is a state-of-the-art Oracle web-based application that replaced New Jersey’s 20-year-old child support application in September 2009.

Courtland worked closely with the State of New Jersey on a multitude of tasks, including change management activities that prepared end users and identified business impact from the new web-based application. In addition, Courtland’s 52-person implementation support team efficiently prepared and supported the end users in all 21 counties that were organized in four regional rollouts. The team earned recognition and positive feedback for their pre- and post-support efforts from the end user community, management from county offices, the State of New Jersey, the NJKiDS Executive Oversight Board, and the Administrative Office of the Courts.

Courtland’s implementation support team interacted with and supported all levels of child support staff and became NJKiDS system experts. The team’s knowledge and professionalism, paired with their passion and commitment for improving the lives of children and families, helped earn the State of New Jersey national recognition. In October 2009, shortly after statewide implementation of the new system, NJKiDS was awarded the nationally recognized Federal Office of Child Support Enforcement Commissioner’s award for Innovative Technology.

Courtland Consulting is very proud to have implemented the NJKiDS application statewide. Courtland’s team remains committed to NJKiDS and continue to have a presence on this project as part of the core team providing maintenance support. These accomplishments highlight one of many projects which attest to the Courtland commitment to provide the very highest level of service for all of our clients.
