Community

Courtland’s business philosophy is strongly rooted in the need to care for our clients' and employees' needs. This doesn’t end at the bottom line. Our corporate culture encourages carrying this philosophy into the greater community. Several times a year, Courtland employees organize and carry out community service projects. Here are highlights of our recent events:

Courtland Volunteers for Burcham Hills Foundation

A group of Courtland team members spent a warm July evening helping the Burcham Hills Foundation run a fundraising booth at the Common Ground Music Festival in Lansing, Michigan. This annual event is a highlight, with staff signing up weeks in advance to man the hole-in-one contest. For a donation, contestants took their turn at driving for the green set up across the Grand River.  Courtland supplied the golf balls and assisted with staffing the booth – even snagging balls that ended up in the river and washing them to be reused.  Courtland is proud to support Burcham Hills, whose mission is to enrich our society by extending the greatest measure of comfort, dignity and security to all who live in their retirement community.

Support for Fatherhood Coalition

Courtland sponsors fatherhood initiative program t-shirts to support the efforts of the Michigan Fatherhood Coalition and in celebration of the 15th Annual Parenting Awareness Michigan Conferences and 2008 Parenting Awareness Month Kickoff events for the months of October and November 2007. The Michigan Fatherhood Coalition is a non-profit organization committed to improving the well-being of children by increasing the number of children growing up with nurturing and committed fathers. MFC assists practitioners working in the human services field to more effectively work with fathers to help them become better parents with thriving children.
